But he has witnessed a very high number of such cases coming from African Countries such Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Zambia, Ghana, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan etc. These high number of cases of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemias (ALLs) from same genotype has helped him improve his success rates beyond the global acceptance level of 90%. The treatment modalities used by him for treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia includes Chemotherapy along with Autologous and Allogenic Bone Marrow Transplants.
The second Specialty of his remains Sickle Cell Disease. Sickle cell disease is a disorders of red blood cells that affect hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen through the body. In sickle Cell disease, the red blood cell takes the shape of a sickle and that is how the disease its name of Sickle Cell Anemia. Dr. Dharma now has a very large series of cases of Sickle Cell Anemia that have been successfully treat with Allogenic Bone Marrow Transplant administered by him.
